The hose or pipe coupling consisting of plastic has two pipe connecting stubs (1, 3) and a clamping lever tensioning collar (2) by means of which the two pipe connecting stubs can be clamped together. The coupling consists of polypropylene which can be welded and is difficult to ignite, and the pipe connecting stubs are provided with welding collars at their ends. The welding collars have the same internal diameter so that, if required, an identical hose liner (4) can be welded onto both coupling sides. In order to increase the temperature resistance, that pipe connecting stub which is fixed in the tensioning collar by the clamping levers is provided with metallic reinforcement (1b) in the region in which the clamping levers engage. <IMAGE>
