PURPOSE:To obtain a freeze-dried pharmaceutical having a high stability, by adding sodium benzoate benzoic acid or nicotinamide to an aqueous solution of a newly developed cephalosporin antibiotic. CONSTITUTION:Sodium benzoate, benzoic acid or nicotinamide is added to stabilize a freeze-dried pharmaceutical of a newly developed antibiotic sodium D-7- alpha-(4-hydroxy-6-methylnic otinamido-4-hydroxyphenylacetamide -3-(1-methyltetrazol-5-yl)thiomethyl-DELTA3-cephem-4-carboxylate. The amount of the stabilizer is preferably 50-200mg based on one g potency antibiotic, and the pH is adjusted to 6-9, preferably about 6.5-8.5, and if necessary with a buffer solution, e.g. a phosphate salt, or further finely adjusted with NaOH and HCl. The resultant solution is then filtered aseptically, filled into a vial and freeze-dried. |
