PURPOSE:In an inverting mechanism of a both-sided copying machine, to invert a sheet at high speed without inversion of transporting means by feeding out the sheet deflected by a guide transfer device in the inverted direction from the trail edge thereof first by a belt unit. CONSTITUTION:In case of inverting a sheet for both-sided copying, a cam 57 is rotated to turn a deflection guide 26 upwards to set a position for deflecting the sheet. The sheet advances as it is bent, and transported by a roller 31 to get to guides 34, 35. When the trail edge of the sheet passes through the rollers 24, 32, the sheet engages with a stopper 41 and the trail edge thereof is attracted to a belt 40 for transporting in the reverse direction, so that the sheet is passed through the rollers 31 and sent to a sorter 12. The roller 32 is disposed in such a manner as to slidably contact with the roller 24 and the belt 40 and provided with notches having a little larger diameter than a contact portion so that a curl portion is pressed downward and surely attracted to the belt 40 by a suction device 36. So paper jam can be prevented. |
