PURPOSE:To make a color picture display device small sized, light weighted and low in cost, by providing a diaphragm plate having stripe slit for a black-and-white CRT and obtaining a color picture through this diaphragm plate. CONSTITUTION:A color filter 3 is fitted in front of a black-and-white CRT1 and a diaphragm plate 4 is provided to form a number of slits to cover the filter, so that the slits can selectively be opposed to the color filter. A gate generator 18 forms a gate signal to repetitively supply a single primary color signal in the order of red, green, blue...on the CRT1. They are reproduced on the screen of the CRT1. In this case, based on the output of an electromagnet drive circuit 20, the diaphragm plate is biased from the center for a prescribed position and the corresponding slit opposes to the red filter, resulting that black-and-white picture can be reproduced as the red picture. This is the same for other primary color and the color picture can be obtained from the phenomenon of residual image. |
