The object of the invention is to avoid high losses of material during the cutting and plaiting of individual webs of cloth. This is achieved in that a higher degree of utilisation of the cloth webs is guaranteed by means of a device consisting of a feeder bar with clamping strip on the plaiting machine, especially for the clothing industry, during the plaiting of cut cloth webs in specific lengths to form a stack. For this, on a plaiting table, a feeder bar with a clamping strip is arranged displaceably on a running rail by means of an advanced mounting. The feeder bar is fastened adjustably on both sides according to the desired height of the cloth web. The individual cut cloth webs are laid exactly against the feeder bar by the attendant and the clamping strip is clamped onto the cloth web by means of a handle.
