A spacer (3), which can be used universally for various printed-circuit board arrangements, is proposed for printed-circuit boards (1). In order to connect individual printed-circuit boards (1), which are arranged on a base plate (2), of an assembly, the spacer (3) consists of a latching fork (6) with an integrally formed rod (7). The rod (7) alternately has ribs (8) and narrowed regions (9) over its entire length. The latching fork (6) has a base part with two integrally formed struts, each having circular recesses and retaining slots. The printed-circuit boards (1) are provided with holes (4) for narrowed regions (9) of the spacer (3) to be "buttoned into". The latching forks can be snapped onto the narrowed regions (9) of a further spacer (3). The spacers (3) can be shortened as desired. <IMAGE>
