Time transformation of FM signals - differentiating signals to produce pulses to control shift register stages generating time transformed signals

The recording of frequently modulated digital signals is performed to allow accurate time base control of compressed and expanded data. The amplitude limited FM signals are fed into a shaping circuit that performs differentiation to generate pulses at the leading and trailing edges of the signals. The pulse series is fed to the clock input of a shift register that is controlled by a start pulse generated at the start of each television line. The outputs of the shift register stages are coupled to switching stages. Capacitors control the timing intervals between pulses. Separate switching stages coupled to a separate shift register control the time transformed signals.
