PURPOSE:A creamy or milky cosmetic that contains, as major ingredients, 18-alpha-gly- cyrrhizin, an oily substance and water, thus acting on skins mildly and showing high affinity, and further having high storage stability and good emulsion stability. CONSTITUTION:The objective cosmetic contains, as major ingredients, 0.01- 25.0%, based on the total weight of the composition, of 18-alpha-glycyrrhizin such as 18-alpha-glycyrrhizic acid, 15-18wt% of an oily substance such as a higher aliphatic hydrocarbon. e.g., liquid paraffin, 10-90wt% of water, further, 0.1-10.0wt% of at least one of naturally occurring surfactant such as lecithin and less than 10wt% of nonacidic pigment such as titanium oxide. The resultant composition causes no reduction in emulsification power or no gelation of glycyrrhizin under any conditions, needs no vaccum dearation on the production and gives high-quality emulsified cosmetic such as foundation cream or skin milk. |
