Air-suspension classifier

The invention relates to an air-suspension classifier with a bar cage having a vertical axis, for separating solid particles contained in a gas stream into coarse and fine fractions. The aim and object of the invention are, by means of a different arrangement of the bars on the rotary body (bar cage), to improve the screening effect and the throughput capacity of the air-suspension classifier with the same, or reduced, energy consumption. This object is achieved by the fact that the bars of the bar cage, diverging upwardly with respect to the axis of rotation, are arranged inclined in the direction of rotation or are designed curved along the circumferential line of the bar cage.
