1,269,455. Magnetic storage apparatus. SIEMENS A.G. 20 May, 1970 [21 May, 1969], No. 24373/70. Heading H3B. A ferrite core data store comprises a stack of flat base-plate assemblies stuck together with an adhesive 4 each base-plate assembly including a flat base-plate 2 having a plurality of ring storage cores 3 stuck on edge with an adhesive thereto. The storage cores 3 are arranged on edge matrix fashion in a jig and an adhesive 4 coated base-plate 2 of insulating material or metal is brought into contact with the cores and the adhesive is hardened. After threading the cores the assembly is tested, and the testing drive x and/or y wires removed. After testing of the individual base-plates 2 they are coated on their opposite faces to the cores 3 with adhesive 4 and stacked as shown. The final x and/ or y drive wires 5, 6 are then threaded through all the cores of the levels and soldered to connectors 7 on base-plate 1. The stack may finally be potted. In an alternative arrangement after threading the cores with the x and y drive wires the assembly is folded to form a stack of matrix planes which are stuck together by adhesive. |
