(Piperidino methyl)indoles of formula I R5 = H, hydroxy, low alkoxy; R6 = H, alkyl; R7=Phenyl, low alkoxyphenyl,halophenyl; X=oxygen, sulfur) were prepd. Thus, mixed soln. of 4-benzoylureidopiperidin, formaldehyde and acetic acid reacted with indole to give 1-1-(indole-3-yl methyl)piperide-4-yl-3-benzoyl urea. 3/4H2O. The title compds. are used as an antidepression agent.
