A rotor (1) for disc brakes which can be ventilated comprises a first and a second disc (2, 3) each having a friction body (2a, 3a) on their circumference and a cut-out in the region of their central axis, a plurality of main ribs (4) extending radially between the first and the second disc (2, 3) and a plurality of additional ribs (10) extending between the first and the second disc (2, 3), in the circumferential direction of the rotor (1). As seen in the radial direction of the rotor, the additional ribs (10) overlap to such an extent with the respective adjacent main and/or additional rib that the rigidity or strength of the rotor (1) is increased. <IMAGE>
