The blow-texturing machine for the crimping of multifilament chemical yarns has a texturing zone, consisting of two delivery units (1 and 2) and, arranged between them, a water bath (17) and blowing nozzle (7), and a heating zone. This heating zone consists of two delivery units (3 and 4) and of a heater (8) which is arranged between these and which contains a heating tube (9). The heating tube (9) is at least 1 m long and its inside diameter is between 3 mm and 8 mm or a maximum of 10 mm. The yarn provided having arcs, loops and snarls is guided through the heating tube (9) at a speed of more than 150 m/min. The heating tube (9) has a cross-sectional narrowing or a plurality of cross-sectional narrowings distributed over its length, for example in the form of local virtually concentric and bead-like elevations (15) extending over the circumference of the inner casing of the tube. The bead-like elevations (15) can be made annularly closed or spiral-like. The inside diameter of a cross-sectional narrowing can be 10% to 50% smaller than the inside diameter of the remaining portions of the heating tube (9). The axial extension of a bead-like elevation is up to 1% of the total length of the heating tube. The elevations can be inserts. <IMAGE>
