PURPOSE:To improve the collecting power of an adhesive and the impregnation property of the collected glass fibers, by using an emulsion obtained by the emulsion copolymerization of a vinyl monomer and a monomer having a nitrogen-containing functional group in the presence of a nonionic surface active agent. CONSTITUTION:A copolymer emulsion obtained by the emulsion copolymerization of a vinyl monomer such as vinyl acetate and a monomer having a nitrogen-containing functional group such as N-alkylol unsaturated acid amide in the presence of a nonionic surface active agent, is used as the titled adhesive for collecting glass fibers. The adhesive has strong power to collect the glass fibers, and improves the impregnation property of the collected glass fibers with the matrix resin. |
