PURPOSE:To obtain a high quality steel having a minimized P content, by jetting a desiliconizing agent heated to a high temp. on a flow of molten pig iron to desiliconize the molten pig iron to a prescribed concn. of Si and by jetting a dephosphorizing agent. CONSTITUTION:A desiliconizing agent is heated to a high temp. and jetted on a continuous flow of molten pig iron flowing through the through of the casting bed of a blast furnace to desiliconize the molten pig iron to <=0.1wt.% Si. After slag formed by the desiliconization is removed, a dephosphorizing agent is heated to a high temp. and jetted on the desiliconized slag-free molten pig iron to dephosphorize the molten pig iron.
