PURPOSE:To polish the inner face of pipe uniformly and smoothly over the entire length by pushing a core inserted into the pipe magnetically against the inner face of the pipe, when the inner face of a non-magnetic metallic pipe is polished, then feeding abrasive grains into the pipe together with fluid and polishing the inner face. CONSTITUTION:A non-magnetic metallic pipe 2 is inserted between an electromagnet 1 and a soft steel core 3, then current is fed to the electromagnet 1. Consequently, the core 3 is attracted by the electromagnet 1 and pushed against the inner face of the non-magnetic metallic pipe 2. At the same time, fluid dispersed with abrasive grains is fed into the metallic pipe 2, then the metallic pipe 2 is moved with a shaft 4 being rotated. The core is made of cylindrical member splitted into two, where a recess 6 is made in the flat portion and a pin 5 fixed to the shaft 4 is placed loosely in the recess 6 thereby the core 3 can move in radial direction of the shaft 4. Consequently, the core 3 also pushes the inner face of the metallic pipe 2 centrifugally. A buff or a silicon rubber is applied onto the outer face of the core 3. |
