METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING COAL-DUST

Coal-dust is treated for use in firing a combustion unit that includes a preheating stage, a calcining stage and a sintering stage; a grinding and drying unit for coal dust is associated with the combustion unit and means is provided for conducting waste air from the grind ing mill to the calcining stage, conveniently grit from the grinding mill is injected, under control, into the waste air and combustion of the grit represents an additional source of heat in the calcining; the combustion unit and the grinding and drying unit are desirably integrated to form a functional and structural unit. In this way coal-dust can be economically treated for the production of cement clinker.
