<p>The method of manufacturing heat exchanger elements uses aluminum sheet and consists of corrugating to form a parallel top and bottom (10) with sloping sides (11). The sheet is compressed longitudinally to bring the adjacent sides together at the apex (13). The sheet passes through a set of rollers (15) which deposit adhesive onto the apex (13) forming a fillet (17) which seals the triangular profile thus formed. A thin sheet of metal or plastic can also be stuck along the top and bottom surfaces (16). A second set of rolls (18) operating in the opposite direction lift off the surplus glue. The glue is cured by heating prior to passing through a spring assembly (14) which keeps the corrugations closed.</p> |
