PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic metal material having superior magnetic resitance and high saturated magnetization quantity by a method wherein an alkali solution containing Fe ion and Zn ion of bivalent and Cr ion of trivalent is subjected to throug-flow oxidation in a gas containing oxygen to obtain goethite, and is reduced. CONSTITUTION:The alkali solution containing Fe ion and Zn ion of two valency and Cr ion of three valency is subjected to through-flow oxidation in the gas containing oxygen to obtain needle grain of goethite containing Zn and Cr, the heating dehydration treatment is performed therewith in the air at the temperature of 500- 750 deg.C for 1-3hr, and moreover reduction treatment is performed in H2 atmosphere at 350-550 deg.C. It is desirable to make adding quantity of Zn mentioned above as 1- 5atom% to Fe, and adding quantity of Cr as 0.1-3atom% to Fe. Accordingly, needle grain type goethite can be obtained by the addition of Zn, moreover generation of sintering is prevented by the addition of Cr, and the magnetic metal material having superior magnetic resistance and high saturated magnetization quantity can be obtained. |
