A contact lens 10 comprises a light transmitting area 12 centrally located in the pupil area and a surrounding area 14, the latter being formed of opaque areas 15 and light transmission regions 16. The area 12 is provided with proper correction for a nearsighted condition, while the provision of light transmitting and opaque regions provides for close vision, without a prescribed optical correction in the area 14. A prescription for distance is usually ground across the entire lens. The areas 15 may be coloured. Other forms of light transmission regions are illustrated. |
