PURPOSE:To prevent the solidification of molten metal and save electric power by supplying electric power to inductors in such a way that reflux is produced in the molten metal in the tongue end part where heat capacity is small during the pause of molten metal transfer-out to be carried out through an electromagnetic spout diagonally upward. CONSTITUTION:To carry out the molten metal 2 in a storage tank 1 to the outside, a voltage regulator 5 is so regulated that the moving magnetic fields carrying out the molten metal 2 in an arrow A direction are obtained in the inductors 3b of an electromagnetic spout 3, thence a switch S1 is turned on. Thereby, the molten metal 2 in the tank 1 is carried out to the ladle or the like in the outside. Next, when the carrying-out of the molten metal to the outside ceased for a certain period, the polarity of the electric power applied to the spout 3 by the regulator 5 is inverted to change the thrust direction to the molten metal 2 in the arrow A' direction. Flow is produced in the counter direction of the tank 1 in the upper layer part of the molten metal in the tangue end part P by the reaction caused by this and eventually the reflux of the molten metal 2 in an arrow A3 direction is produced. Hence, the molten metal 2 of high temps. is flowed at all times into the part P, and the solidification of the molten metal 2 in this part is prevented. |
