The transmitter contains a receiver (10) that can be switched-in instead of the transmitter (11). The receiver frequency is the same as that of the transmitter and is determined by the tuning circuit of the transmitter. A change in transmitter frequency automatically results in a corresponding change in receive frequency. The user can check before switching in the transmitter whether the channel he intends to transmit on is already occupied by the user of another model and therefore likely to lead to interference, i.e one user taking over the control of another model. This test can be performed automatically at periodic intervals.
