The suction mat is used in vacuum treatment of concrete, and comprises a top and a bottom gas-tight layer with a distance unit (5) between them. This is composed of channels transporting water and distributing vacuum. The lower layer has a large number of holes issuing into the channels. The two layers and the channels form an integral unit, and the channels forming and the channels forming the distance unit are connected to a vacuum pump via two perforated support tubes (1) on either side of the mat (2).
