Tiles, or panels, pictures, mirrors or other units, are fitted to surfaces, esp. walls, ceilings or floors to be covered. This surface (2) has strips of iron (3) attached to it. Strongly magnetic material (1), in strip form, with fine pole pitch, is fitted between these and the rear side of the covering unit (4), flush with this side (5) or protruding from it. This may be magnetised on both sides, and be made of soft iron, pref. sheet at least 0.2 mm. thick. Cladding, or any part of it, is easily mounted and replaced, without destruction.
