The asynchronous short-circuit-current motor has a stator (0) in an outer stator and a bearing flange with a normal bearing besh (4) concentric with the rotor spindle (5). Adjacent to the inner surface of the stator is a hollow cylinder forming the magnetically active part of the rotor, and made of soft magnetic material. The active rotor component has a number of spiral grooves, in which are laid a number of electrically insulated wires, bedded in by an electrically insulating adhesive with good thermal conductivity properties. The assembly may operate either as a motor or a generator. The hollow cylinder of the rotor is filled with a laminated packet of soft magnetic laminates, with screws parallel to the axis. The radial ring bearing is made of hard electrolytic copper.
