Positive action mechanical guidance devices, consists of guiding edges or kerbs offset upwards from the track surface. They are located on both sides of a running track to steer track-guided vehicles and keep them on the track. Where the track crosses a road, the system (1) is made without any guidance device across the whole width of the road, to avoid interference with road traffic. On the exit side the guiding edges (2,3) have a common ending at a straight line (7) at right angles to the track axis (6). In this area, the track surface is free from transverse inclination, while on the entrance side there is a funnel-shaped directional device (10), pref. of symmetrical shape, to catch the vehicles. Funnel widening is pref. at least one-sixth of track width.
|
