Heat pump with liq. separator before compressor - has temp. detector in separator clear of bottom

The heat pump has a refrigerating medium circuit with a compressor preceded by a liq. separator. There is a temp. detector (4) in the separator (1). It is for a thermostat switch connected in the electric supply to the compressor, this detector being mounted clear of the separator bottom (7). The detector can be mounted vertically, and is contained in an immersion tube (2), sealed to the separator where it is inserted in this from the top, and closed at its inner end (6). The design ensures that the heat pump is shut down if an unusually high quantity of liq. passes the evaporator.
