PURPOSE:To automatically wind and assemble a timing belt and assemble a pulley and to accomplish labor saving by presetting a pulley, a guide pulley and a belt on a pallet tn a state of being assembled to the engine side. CONSTITUTION:A preset device 3 including a cam shaft, a crank shaft, a water pump pulley, a cam pulley (a) supported in such a manner as to be aligned with the axis of a tensioner pulley, a drive pulley (b), guide pulleys 30, 34 and a timing belt (c) wrapped in a normal state round the pulleys is provided on a pallet 10 confronting with one surface of an engine 52. The pallet 10 is advanced to bring preset support shafts of the cam pulley (a) and the drive pulley (b) into contact with the shaft ends of the cam shaft and crank shaft, and the respective support shafts are moved backward to shift the respective pulleys (a), (b) to the shafts and assemble same. The guide pulleys 30, 34 are brought into contact with the water pump pulley and the tensioner pulley to be moved backward, and the timing belt (c) is wrapped and assembled round the respective pulleys. |
