In the manufacture of roller blinds with a piece of blind material, which is fastened to and can be rolled up onto a blind roller, which is fixed at the top of a window opening, the material is unwound from a storage roll in a length which corresponds to the width of the finished blind. In unwinding the material the two edges are trimmed along lines parallel to the direction of unwinding and the required length cut off along a line at right angles to the direction of unwinding. This ensures that all edges of the bland material are perpendicular to one another, obviating the need fort time-consuming and laborious manual trimming work.
