The settling tank for dressing fine coal is fitted with discharge assemblies or throughput feldspar beds. The individual sections of the tank are designed as single or multiple part standardised cells (1,2). The cells or cell parts have a width of 1-2m and a length of 1-3m. Each cell has conveyors for transporting away the processed material. If the tank is fitted with a throughput feldspar bed, an automatic lifting control adjusts the lifting intensity in proportion to the height of the covering layer on the feldspar bed. The lifting control operates by measuring the weight of the material resting on the feldspar bed.
