PURPOSE:To manufacture the titled recording medium which is suitable for high density recording, by applying a magnetic paint having a specific viscosity onto a base body in giving a shearing speed, and subsequently, applying a magnetic field in the direction being vertical to the base body surface. CONSTITUTION:A shearing speed is given to a magnetic paint whose viscosity is >=6,000cP, which has dispersed magnetic particles whose particle diameter is <=0.3mum, having an easily magnetizing axis in the direction being vertical to the plate surface, it is applied onto a base body, orienting the magnetic particles, and after, a magnetic field in the direction meeting at rigth angles with the carrying direction of the base body is applied to said base body, by which a vertical magnetic recording medium which is excellent in an orientation property and a surface smoothing property is manufactured. |
