PURPOSE:To restrict the stirring loss caused by the balance weight only to the viscous resistance acting on the surface, in the case of a rotary balance weight of a reciprocating compressor etc. by arranging the contour of its external surface symmetrical with respect to its axis and aligning this axis with the axis of rotary system. CONSTITUTION:The lubricant 14 staying on the bottom of chamber 4 is sucked in parallel with the rotation of a crank shaft 7 by the action of a contrifugal pump equipped in the crankshaft 7, and delivered to each section of sliding area. Meanwhile, the external contour of a balance weight 15 making rotation as an integrated part of the cranksahft 7 is formed in a symmetrical from with respect to this axis which is aligned with the axis of the rotary system of the crankshaft. For this purpose, variation of density along the circumference, in the balance weight 15, for instance, arrangement of a high density portion 18 and a low density portion 19 shall be provided so as to shift the center of gravity from the center of the rotary shaft. This arrangement can reduce the stirring loss of lubricant 14 down to the net viscous resistance remaining on the contact face between both members 14 and 15.
