Articles having long-lasting germicidals properties, for use in surgical threads, bandages, toothbrushes, etc. are prepd. by treating a substrate of N-contg. amphoteric org. film-forming material with an aqs. soln. contg. germicidal anions or cations derived from quaternary ammonium salts, bacitracin, polymixin, tyrothricin, viomycin, vancomycin, cycloserin, tetracyclin, aureomycin, terramycin, subtilin or anisomycin. |
