<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of an apparatus and strengthening member in various parts, to make short-term construction possible, and also to make effective utilization of waste heat and miniaturization of a boiler possible, by constructing at least the wall of a top chamber with a water-tube membrane structure. CONSTITUTION:The top chamber 25d of the main body 25 of a quenching furnace and a circular gap 27 on the outer periphery of a prechamber 25A, are constructed with a water-tube membrane structure 28. In this apparatus, the top part of a duct 30 and the tube of a waste-heat boiler 29 are also constructed with the water-tube membrane structure 28. The outside of the water-tube membrane 28 is surrounded by a heat insulating material 37 such as glass wool. Further, the outside of the material 37 is covered with an iron skin 38. Many water tubes 31 are united by a steel plate 32. Water is supplied through a water supply header 33 to each water tube 31. Water, part of which is in the form of steam within the water tube 31, is returned through a steam header 34 to a reservoir, and then is again pressure-fed to the water supply header 33. The weight of the apparatus is greatly reduced and the effective utilization of waste heat is made possible by constructing parts with a water-tube membrane structure, said parts being not directly contacted with red hot coke and dust, and having no fear of suffering abrasion.</p> |
