<p>Acylaminoperfluoroalkanesulfonanilides of the formula: <CHEM> wherein R1 is a lower perfluoroalkyl; R2 is alkyl; alkoxy; unsaturated alkyl; substituted unsaturated alkyl, carboxyalkyl; cyanoalkyl; haloalkyl; R3 is hydrogen, alkyl, or unsaturated alkyl; R4 and R5 are independently hydrogen, lower alkyl, cyano; nitro, halo, phenyl, benzoyl, benzenesulfonyl, thio, or phenylthiol; R6 is hydrogen, alkoxycarbonyl or alkoxythiocarbonyl, haloalkoxycarbonyl, haloalkoxythiocarbonyl, aryloxycarbonyl, or phenylalkoxycarbonyl; R7 is hydrogen or halogen; and agriculturally acceptable salts of the acid form compounds; provided that R2, R3, and R6 individually contain not more than twelve carbon atoms, and wherein R3, R6, and R7 are hydrogen, R2 cannot be methyl, ethyl, or chloromethyl. These compounds and the agriculturally acceptable salts thereof are useful as herbicides and plant growth regulators.</p> |
