PURPOSE:To form a gap with high accuracy without deteriorating a magnetic characteristic of a magnetic substance, by placing a spacer of a nonmagnetic material of a high softening point on the gap part, and using a nonmagnetic material of a low softening point when cores are made to adhere to each other. CONSTITUTION:A block 1 of ferrite is polished to a specular surface, a groove 3 for a winding window, and a lot of hollowed parts 4 are formed, and on a block 2, too, a similar hollowed part 5 is formed. Subsequently, thin film layers 7, 7' becoming a gap spacer are formed in advance on the block 1 by vapor deposition by use of a nonmagnetic material of a high softening point, they are butted, a nonmagnetic material of a low softening point and a glass rod 9 are placed in the hollowed parts 4, 5 and the groove 3, respectively, they are cut and polished, by which a magnetic head is obtained. In this way, since the thin film layers 7, 7' are not softened when they are heated and made to adhere, the size at the time when the thin film has been formed is maintained correctly, also a mutual diffusion phenomenon between the core and the spacer does not occur, and a magnetic characteristic of the core is not deteriorated. |
