<p>PURPOSE:To improve the performance of flow distribution and prevent marine creatures from clinging and growing, by juxtaposing a plurality of box-shaped distribution tanks under between the upper headers of the panels of an open-rack-type evaporator so that the distribution tanks extend in parallel with the panels and the top of each tank is open. CONSTITUTION:A group of six heat exchange panels 1 are juxtaposed in parallel with each other in an evaporator unit. Distribution tanks 10 are opposed to the upper parts of the heat exchange panels 1 located at regular intervals, so that the tanks and the panels are alternately juxtaposed. both the ends of the tanks 10 are connected to a box-shaped communication tank 11, whose top is open, through box- shaped water passage which extend in parallel with the panels 2 and whose tops are open. The tank 11 surrounds the upper parts of the panels 2. Water poured through a water supply pipe 16 extending over the tank 11 is divided to the distribution tanks 10 and sprinkled onto the surfaces of the panels 2 through a slits 12 in the botoms of the tanks 11. According to this constitution, the performance of flow distribution is improved and marine creatures are prevented from clinging and growing.</p> |
