A latex made from a conjugated diene such as 1,3-butadiene and an alkyl ester of an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid such as butyl acrylate is thickened with conventional thickening agents and used as a pressure-sensitive adhesive. The latex exhibits excellent tack, shear adhesion and peel adhesion even without the use of added tackifiers.
