In a break spinning device having a casing 7 with at least one roller 3, '5 for feeding fibres and an air inlet 9 for a current of air which carries the fibres into the chamber 8 the casing has one or more inlet holes 17, 20 for admitting air from outside the casing between the roller(s) and the casing. Thus the low pressure areas such as 15 are connected to the atmosphere and fibres are not sucked into the spaces between the sides of the rollers and the casing. As shown venting holes 17 are provided in the casing 7 adjacent the side of combing out roller 5 which is next to the high pressure space 6' which can contain short fibres. A further hole 20 is provided adjacent the nip of feed roller 3 and presser 2. The holes 17 are preferably provided close to the axis of roller 5 and in Fig. 2 not shown wherein the shaft of roller 5 extends through one side of the easing only a hole 17 is provided in the opposite wall on the axis of the shaft.</p> |
