[Also in Divisions F2 and H3] A push button set for a radio receiver has a plurality of push-buttons 1, each capable of actuating two driving rods 9, 11; 13, 15 which are adapted to drive a tuning mechanism and on successive depressions of a push button the two rods are actuated alternately by an alternating mechanism 27, 31 and 47 adapted to engage first one and then the other of the driving rods. As shown a button 1 is in the released position after having been pressed to actuate via bolt 27 driving rods f3, 15. On next pressing the button 1, the gear 33 (Fig. 2) is moved anticlockwise together with driving gear wheel 31 which moves the bolt frame 27 to'the dotted upper position shown in Fig. 1 so that the button actuates rods 9, 11. The gear 33 now occupies the dotted position shown in Fig. 2 and is held against rotation by spring biassed driving pawl 35. The pawl 35 may be formed by two parallel beams 63. The rods such as 13, 15 may operate a known tuning setting arrangement (Figs. 5 to 7, not shown), in respect of which the modification draws attention to Patent No. 1,028,073. In this arrangement a segment adjusting element (51) is released from a locked position by pulling the button 1. The bolt 27 then engages the rod 13 and moves the rod relative to the rod 15 so that a U-shaped bracket (55) releases the adjusting element (51). The gear 31 and bolt frame 27 then occupy the lower dotted position in Fig. 1 and, although the gear 31 has moved, on repressing the button it resumes its position with tooth a against lug 47 for actuating rods 13, 15 so that the segment element (51) is rotated and locked to the new selected position of a tuning crank (59) by the U-shaped bracket (55). The bolt 27 may be in the form of a plate having projecting lugs 47, 49. Each driving rod 9, 11 and 13, 15 may have a lug which moves a spring returned slidable cover so that a light source is visible behind an aperture above that respective driving rod last pressed. The push button set may be used in a car radio.</p> |
