PURPOSE:To reduce the installing space of a multi-item input device by using the IC cards as a book and packaging a reader/writer into said input device. CONSTITUTION:An IC card reader/writer 19 is provided to a multi-item input device 1 and an IC card 6 is set to the device 1. Then, a built-in memory 16 is switched with the IC card book 6 by a changeover switch 7. Thus, the item data on both the memory 16 and the book 6 can be used. An LED 8 is turned on when the card 6 is selected so that the card 6 is clearly discriminated from the memory 16.
