PURPOSE:To know the liquid level in a tank at all times by making the entire liquid level visible in a small display part. CONSTITUTION:A liquid level detector 1 consists of optical fibers which are bundled in a large number, and its detecting part 2 is made equal to the internal height of a tank 3 and its display part 4 is made the same as a shape of a display window 5 of transparent glass. A light irradiating device 6 also consists of a bundle of multiple optical fibers, and its photodetecting part 8 projects to the outside of the tank 3. A light projecting part 7 is mounted in the tank 3 in opposite proximity to the detecting part 2 of the detector 1. If the device is constituted in this way, the light from a light source 9 when a switch 11 is turned on enters the device 6 from its part 8, and irradiates the clearance between the part 7 and the part 2 from the part 7. On the other hand, the detector 1 receives the irradiated light in the detecting part 2 and feeds the same to a display part 4. The entire height of the inside of the tank 3 is displayed by being reduced to the height of the display part 4. |
