A copy holder e.g. for a typewriter has two support surfaces forming an obtuse angle. The one support surface is substantially horizontal while the other(2) is more nearly vertical but rearwardly inclined. The copy sheet(5) is placed on to the surfaces so as to define a fold at the junction of the surfaces. The more nearly vertical surface has a clamp strip(3) which holds the copy to that surface. The fold provides the paper with sufficient strength to enable the copy to overhang one side of the holder without flopping down. The holder need therefore only be sufficiently wide to support a margin of the copy.
