Acoustic cavity for multiple transducer impedance matching - has adjacent transducer cells with coplanar emission axes and pronounced flaring of adjoining wall to guide waves

Transducers (7) are mounted in the throats of acoustic cells such that their diaphragms (7a,7b) produce principal emission axes (8a,8b) from adjacent cells which are coplanar. Each cell has a pronounced flaring on the interior wall (9a,9b) and at points perpendicular to the emission axes the distance is greater to this wall than to the outer wall (10a,10b). Inner walls for adjacent cells intersect at a point (M) on the central axis (12) inside the mouth of the cavity as defined by a line (11) between the outer ends of the outer walls. This enables the acoustic waves to be guided within their particular cells for the larger part of their path to the mouth of the cavity.
