PURPOSE:To improve the fixability of a developer at low temp., the offsetting and blocking resistances by using a toner based on a specified ionic cross-linked resin and a carrier coated with silicone resin. CONSTITUTION:A developer is composed of toner particles based on a resin obtd. by allowing carboxy groups present in a polymer (A) to react with a multivalent metallic compd., and carrier particles obtd. by coating the surface of a magnetic body with silicone resin such as condensation reaction type silicone resin. The polymer A is preferably a polymer consisting of a styrene monomer, a (meth)acrylic ester monomer and a hemiester compd. (B) represented by formula I. The compd. B is a compd. obtd. by bringing a (meth)acrylic acid deriv. having a hydroxyl group and a dicarboxylic acid compd. into a hemiesterification reaction, e.g., a compd. represented by formula II. In the formulae I, II, each of R1-R3 is H or methyl, L is a combining group having an ester bond in the molecular chain, m=1-14 and n=0-8. |
