<p>The soil is frozen using an outer tube (1) placed in contact with the lining of a bore hole. An inlet pipe (2) is introduced into the outer tube and contains a smaller concentric outlet pipe (10). A sealed chamer chamber (9) is formed between the outer tube and the inlet pipe by seals (3,4,5,6) which are inflatable using the duct (7). Heat transfer liquid is introduced into the chamber via a conduit (8) and liquified gas is introduced into the inlet pipe. The gas passes through the outlet pipe having taken heat from the soil via the heat transfer liquid.</p> |
