A method of adjusting a zero point in a process for combination weighing or counting, having the steps of weighing articles with a plurality of weighing instruments, calculating a value from a combination of the values of the weights of the articles in the respective weighing instruments or of the number of the articles converted from the values of the weights of the articles, selecting the combination of weights or the number of the articles equal to or nearest to a set value and discharging the articles corresponding to the selected combination from the weighing instruments. This method can automatically adjust the zero point of a predetermined weighing instrument selected from the weighing instruments which already discharged the articles without stopping the operation of the weighing instruments with every discharge.
