<p>The circuit for activation of gas discharge lamps in a gas, wherein there are provided for the ignition an ignition device (2, 17) comprising an ignition transformer (17) and an auxiliary voltage source disconnectable once the ignition is effected, comprises a rectifier with two alternations (6) to which are connected in parallel a charge capacitor (10) and an electronic switching element (8) dependent on the voltage. A switch contact (9), mounted in series with the charge capacitor (10), may be actuated with the switching element (8). The charge capacitor (10), providing the operating voltage for the gas discharge lamp (3), may be charged at a voltage selectable with the switching element (8). The rectifier with two alternations (6) used as an auxiliary voltage source may be disconnected from the discharge lamp (3), after its ignition, by a control element (4). The ignition device (2, 17) is connected to the charge capacitor (10), the secondary winding of the ignition transformer (17), separated from the operating current circuit of the discharge lamp (3), being connected to the latter. </p> |
