Apparatus for producing a feedstuff comprising at least one edible higher fatty acid and a basic oxide, comprising means (1, 2, 3) for mixing the at least one edible higher fatty acid and the basic oxide, means (4) for introducing water to the at least one edible higher fatty acid and the basic oxide to provide a reaction mixture, means (6, 9) for spreading the reaction mixture as a layer in a reaction zone, and at least one drag link conveyor (7) for advancing the aqueous reaction mixture while the water evaporates from the heat of reaction and the mixture transforms into a friable product which is discharged at the end of the said at least one drag link conveyor. |
