<p>A detergent and cleansing compsn. has active ingredients comprising 1-50 wt.% (A) R1COO(-) R2NHA1A2(+), where R1 is 6-18C opt. substd. alkyl; R2 is 8-18C alkyl or R3CONZY(-), where R3 is 8-18C alkyl; Z is H or 1-4C alkyl; and Y is 1-4C alkylene; and A1 and A2 are -(CH2CH2COOX)n, -(CH2COOX)n, -(CH2CHOHCH2SO3X)n or -(CH2CHOHCH2OPO3X)n, in which X is a water-soluble cation and n is 1 or 2; provided that if only one of A1 and A2 is as above, the other can be 1-4C alkyl or hydroxyalkyl; and 2-50 wt.% (B) a sulpho-succinate, alkyl carboxylate, alpha-sulpho fatty acid or ester carboxylate, alkyl succinate, alkyl sarcosinate or fatty acid protein condensate. The compsn. exhibits low irritation potential to the eyes and skin and good foaming properties, including foam stability; and is useful for personal cleansing.</p> |
